Peer Review Procedure

All manuscripts submitted to Phthisiopulmonology are subject to mandatory peer review to ensure their scientific quality and relevance in the fields of phthisiology, pulmonology, and related medical sciences.

Review Process

  1. Initial Screening – Within three days, the Scientific Consultant checks each submission for compliance with the journal’s scope and formal requirements.
  2. Expert Review. The manuscript is sent to two independent specialists in phthisiology, pulmonology, and related medical sciences for scientific evaluation. The journal uses double-anonymous peer review: authors do not know the reviewers’ identities, and reviewers are not provided with information identifying the authors. Communication between authors and reviewers is managed by the editorial office. Peer review is conducted on a voluntary basis, confidentially and impartially.

  3. Editorial Board Decision. Editorial Board meetings are held quarterly, during which the final list of articles for publication is approved. Additional expert opinions may be requested if necessary.
  4. Final Approval – The Editor-in-Chief (or deputies/consultant) approves the content after technical preparation. Authors may review the final layout before publication.

Author Notification

Positive decision – The manuscript is placed in the publication queue; authors may request approximate publication dates.

Revisions required – The article is returned for correction or a reasoned response; revised versions undergo repeated review.

Rejection – Authors receive the reviewer’s comments and an official letter of refusal.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s formatting or submission requirements are not considered for publication. Resubmitted manuscripts are treated as new submissions.
