About the publication

Dear readers!

On behalf of the editorial board, I am glad to welcome you and present an updated version of our journal “Phthisiopulmonology”.

In the era of rapidly changing approaches both in the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis according to WHO recommendations and the endTB Strategy, with the expansion of public access to rapid methods of molecular genetic diagnostics, the use of new anti-tuberculosis drugs, the expansion of the patient and person-oriented approach, with the possibility of using short-term treatment regimens, new horizons and prospects are opening up for all of us, not only tuberculosis control, but also reducing morbidity by 90% and mortality by 95% by 2035 compared to 2015.

The mission of the journal is to strengthen the brand of the National Scientific Center of Phthisiopulmonology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the scientific and academic community, to establish cooperation with talented Kazakhstani and foreign scientists, to promote the development of the knowledge base of science and higher education.

The scientific and practical journal “Phthisiopulmonology” is recognized both in Kazakhstan and abroad. With the introduction of the Digital Kazakhstan program in our country, the electronic version of the journal will allow our colleagues and specialists of the general medical network to quickly share their opinions and experiences, cases from practice, and will increase scientific horizons and professional skills.

The scientific and practical journal “Phthisiopulmonology” is an official publication registered by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan (formerly the Ministry of Culture, Information and Public Consent of the Republic of Kazakhstan). The scientific and practical journal has been published for more than 15 years (since 2001) and is an informational and educational publication in the field of practical and theoretical issues of tuberculosis and other lung diseases, included in the list of the KKSON of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
